Coláiste Eoin Success at the Inter Schools Cross Country Championships
Coláiste Eoin students performed brilliantly today in Phoenix Park in freezing conditions.
In the 2000m (Under-17 Intermediate Boys), Coláiste Eoin received the gold medal for all-round performance.
Individual placement was outstanding with Coláiste Eoin coming 1st, 2nd and 3rd (Darius, Michele and Kieran respectively). The team also benefited enormously from great runs by Luke Kelly and Dimytro (21st and 23rd respectively).
Francesco Madau won a silver medal in the 3000 m (Over-17 Boys), narrowly missing out on the top spot to a possible future Olympic runner.
The 1000 m (Minor Boys) was also very well represented by Jason Duddy who came 5th in a very competitive field. Will Prendergast also ran very well and came in 15th in a field of over 60 runners. Keith Smith also took part and even though he faced stiff opposition he was able to place 42nd in a very large field.
Not to be outdone by his brother, Lee Duddy ran brilliantly and won a silver medal in the 1000 m (Junior Boys (Under 15).
Gloria Nankya and Wiktoria Ferdzyn represented the school very well in the 1000 m (Junior Girls) with exceptional runs in a very competitive category.
All in all, it was a great day for the students and they all did themselves and the school proud. Many thanks to Mr Lee for all the organising.
