Junior Cycle Schools Programme (JCSP)

The JCSP Programme is a social inclusion programme set up as a measure under DEIS to combat the educational disadvantage experienced by students and to bring about educational equality to students who are disadvantaged because their social economic status. The JCSP Programme was designed as an intervention to support students who were identified as being at risk of not making the transition from Primary school to Secondary school successfully and to support students considered to be at risk of not remaining in school and sitting the Junior Certificate examination. It targets literacy and numeracy through the three years of the Junior Cycle. The programme also includes funds and initiatives, resources and celebration to rewards students’ success. Once the students reach third year the statements from each subject will be entered into the system and then the completed profiles will be sent out to the schools to be given to the third years at their end of year celebration
